Stained Teeth

Solutions for some of the most common issues

The Problems with Stained Teeth

There are two different kinds of teeth stains: intrinsic and extrinsic. Extrinsic stains are the most common and are caused by our daily habits such as smoking or drinking coffee, tea, and wine. Many of these stains can be easily removed with various whitening products. Zoom! whitening is an amazing product that allows you to whiten up to eight shades in just one hour! You can also whiten in the comfort of your home by wearing custom whitening trays for 1 hour per day. Results are often seen in 1-2 weeks.

Intrinsic stains are caused by various factors, such as antibiotics and trauma, that affect the teeth internally versus externally which make it much harder, if not impossible, to whiten. Usually, the best alternative is to cover them with porcelain veneers or crowns. The porcelain will not allow the yellow and gray color to show through, leaving you with naturally beautiful teeth that will remain white.
